  • Desert Living (Arizona 12 TV) On the November 24, 2008 episode of Desert Living, host Eric Dhruv covers the stories of Tucsonans who are working to build a greener community. The show describes Iskashitaa’s activities alongside Green Tuesdays on 92.9 The Mountain, the Community Food Bank, Tucson Green News Magazine, and Civano Elementary—the greenest school in America.

  • Good Food Arizona. Iskashitaa was featured in a short film entitled Good Food Arizona produced by the Kellogg Foundation for their 2008 annual Food and Society Conference in Chandler, AZ.  The film highlights local non-profit organizations in their discussion of the importance local food systems around the nation and in Arizona.

  • Portraits of Compassion (The White House Center for Faith-Based and Community Initiatives). The White House Center of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives (FBCI) selected Iskashitaa for Honorable Mention for Domestic Service in their Portraits of Compassion video contest. Any domestic or international nonprofit organization that has partnered with a federally funded program since 2001 to serve the needy could enter the contest and only 11 organizations received recognition.

  • Tucsonans Honored for video on Somali Refugees. Two Somali refugees and Barbara Eiswerth traveled to Washington D.C. to accept the honorable mention for their submission in the Portraits of Compassion video competition.

  • 2007 National Garden Crusader Barbara Eiswerth In the Spring of 2007 Gardener Supply Co. awarded founder and Coordinator of Iskashitaa, Barbara Eiswerth, with the title of National Garden Crusader in Feeding the Hungry.

  • Barbara Eiswerth wins National Cooperative Grocer Association’s Cooperate for Community Contest  In the Fall of 2008 Barbara Eiswerth won the National Cooperative Grocers Association's first Cooperate for Community contest providing Iskashitaa funds that could be used expand its programs and improve its mapping technology.
